Payless Store Helps Community with Free Health Screening
On August 11th the Payless store invited the Wellness Center team to come and do a health screening for its customers. The team saw 55 people that afternoon, checking blood pressure, blood sugar and weight. Overall the results were good but several people had to come by the center and the hospital for follow up visits due to high blood sugar. 23% of the people seen were diabetic, most of them already knew they had diabetes but a few didn't know anything was wrong. This is why it's called a 'silent killer', you don't necessarily have any symptoms until it's too late! Lucky for these people they had a health screening done and found out there was a problem in time to save their lives and their legs.
